Brain waves are measured in Hertz (Hz), representing the number of cycles per second. They are categorized by their frequency (speed) and amplitude (height/power).

Rhythmic Hierarchy: Brain waves typically follow a binary hierarchy where slower frequencies (like Delta) can modulate the power of faster frequencies (like Gamma).
Amplitude vs. Frequency: There is generally an inverse relationship: the faster the frequency (Gamma/Beta), the lower the amplitude; the slower the frequency (Delta), the higher the amplitude.
Brain-Body Sync: Research suggests that these brain rhythms synchronize with body oscillations like heart rate and breathing frequency, which is why rhythmic breathing at 6 breaths per minute helps induce the Alpha/Theta state.

Dampen Beta: Lower the rapid, low-amplitude jagged lines of active thinking.
